Solutions to your problems

While every water source is unique, most experience similar problems. Problems we have over 15 years of experience treating.

Water testing

From building a new system to investigating new problems, water tests are essential. By identifying what contaminants are in your supply, they tell us what your water needs.

Chemical reduction

Chemical contaminants can reduce water quality, damage plumbed appliances and even pose a risk to your health. Why not find out the warning signs?

UV disinfection

Fighting bacteria one ray at a time, UV disinfection is the chemical-free way to neutralise the microbiological contaminants hidden in your water.

Sediment filters

A staple in any filtration system, sediment filters catch the microscopically sized particles in your water, refining your supply so it’s only the good stuff making it to your taps.

Water softening

Water softening reduces the chemicals responsible for scale buildup and soap scum residue. It prevents the problem so you don’t have to keep remedying the symptoms.

pH correction

Damage prevention is what pH correctors do best; saving the metal pipes and equipment that get your water from A to B from slowly dissolving into your drinking supply.

Booster pumps

Poor water pressure and slow flow rates are rarely intentional design decisions. Booster pumps can give you customisable pressure with the bonus of boosted flow rates.

Installation

Our installations are timely, thorough and professional - prioritising logical design and attention to detail. We even talk you through how it all works once we’re done.

Servicing

Routine maintenance optimises system performance, ensuring your water stays safe and your water samples keep passing all the tests. It’s a win-win for everyone.

Doing things the right way

Overlooking the guidance from your local council and environmental health can be an expensive mistake. It’s best to consult them first, then we’ll come in and do the work.

Scottish Government grants for private water supplies

An often-unknown benefit of owning or using a private water system in Scotland is the availability of council grants to help cover the costs of bringing your water up to modern standards. This includes the one-off cost of installing a water filtration system to help ensure that your drinking water is safe.

Private water supply grants of up to £800 per property can be awarded for:

  • Private water supply improvements (domestic or commercial)

  • Setting-up a new private water supply

  • Setting-up a new domestic distribution system

We strongly recommend consulting your local council’s website to find out if you are eligible for a private water supply grant before starting any work, as grants will not be accepted if the work has already begun or has been completed before a grant application has been submitted.

Liaising with an Environmental Health Officer

If you are a landlord or tenant, or you own or operate a business that is supplied by a private water supply in Scotland, then you are legally required to comply with routine water testing and periodic risk assessments. These health and safety procedures are not mandatory for small, domestic, non-commercial properties using private water supplies, but they are highly recommended.

Organised by your local Environmental Health Officer (EHO), these reviews are put in place to ensure that the quality of your water meets safe standards (with test results staying within regulatory limits) and that all necessary precautions have been implemented to protect the source and distribution system from any preventable contamination.

Your EHO should always be your first port of call when looking to establish, update or modify a private water supply, as their risk assessment will set out the roadmap for creating a water filtration system that meets environmental health standards, receiving their seal of approval from the off-set.
